War Against Drug Abuse (WADA) is a community-based organization in Kano State dedicated to preventing drug abuse, promoting youth development, strengthening community resilience, providing guidance and counselling services, supporting rehabilitation initiatives, and fostering strategic partnerships that advance public health, peace building, and social transformation across Kano State and beyond.

State Command
The State Command is the highest administrative and operational authority of WADA in Kano State.

Serves as the Chief Executive Officer and overall head of WADA Kano State Command, providing strategic leadership, policy direction, organizational oversight, and representation of the organization at state, national and international levels.

Deputy Commander Operations
Responsible for coordinating field operations, community mobilization activities, awareness campaigns and statewide program implementation.

Deputy Commander Administration and Finance
Responsible for administration, personnel management, financial management, budgeting, organizational records, documentation, logistics, procurement, resource accountability and internal coordination.

Deputy Commander Narcotics
Responsible for drug abuse prevention programs, narcotics awareness campaigns, intelligence gathering, research and coordination of anti-drug initiatives.

Deputy Commander Planning and Seminar
Responsible for strategic planning, program design, capacity-building initiatives, training workshops, seminars, conferences, monitoring and evaluation activities and organizational development programs.
Organization
A grassroots structure that connects the State Command to every unit and marshal across the state.

Awareness campaigns, community outreach, school programs, youth initiatives and partnership engagements.

Recognition & Partnerships
WADA Kano State Command is a duly recognized community-based organization registered with the Kano State Government under the Ministry of Rural and Community Development and recognized across various Local Government Areas within the state.
The organization is currently undergoing registration with the Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC) to further strengthen its legal and institutional framework at the national level.
WADA maintains a strong collaborative relationship with the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) and works in partnership with other security agencies, government institutions, community leaders, educational institutions, development organizations, civil society groups, and private sector stakeholders in promoting drug abuse prevention, youth empowerment, peace building, and community development initiatives.
